Tempest
Tempests
tempt
the easily
influenced sea
to froth
at its edges
slamming ships
into ledges
sending debris
to the hedges
and women and men
to their knees
Keeling great vessels
Dowsing the topsails
turning worlds
upside down
as crewmen all drown
and tides ebb and flow
like the breeze
Salt burns the eyes
all the tears that were cried
protests and sighs
and
the Storm's
insatiable
